How to get and start using Mobile-ID for authentication and document signing?
Mobile ID can be issued by various mobile service providers. At the moment Dokobit allows to sign documents and authenticate users with Mobile IDs issued by these providers: Bite, Tele2 and Telia in Lithuania; Elisa, Tele2 and Telia in Estonia; Nova, Siminn and Vodafone in Iceland.
To use Mobile ID you will need to have a special SIM card, issued by your mobile service provider and a mobile phone. Instructions on how to activate Mobile ID on your phone must be provided by your mobile service provider.
Once the Mobile ID is activated, you can start using it for various e-services, such as authentication (for example accessing your bank account) or document e-signing. To use Mobile ID usually you will be asked to enter your phone number and personal code. After entering this data and confirming the action you will see a control/verification code appearing on your device screen. After a moment you will see the same code appearing on your mobile phone screen, make sure these codes match and click "OK". If you are using Mobile ID for authentication you will be asked to enter your sPIN1 code and if you are using Mobile ID for signing, you will be asked to enter sPIN2 code (the number of these sPIN codes might differ with different mobile service providers, you might have only one sPIN code for both - authentication and signing).
Mobile ID service is based on a mobile network therefore if your mobile network is interrupted, your Mobile ID service might be interrupted as well. If you are travelling and you are not sure about mobile service availability please consider having an alternate eID option, for example Smart-ID which service is based on the internet connection.
