Signature long-term validity

The e-signature certificate validation period is usually limited from 1 to 5 years. To ensure e-signature long-term validity even after e-signature certificate expiration date, all e-signatures in the Dokobit portal are signed using qualified timestamp and prepared for long-term validity.

The e-signature with a qualified timestamp is being considered valid and legally binding as long as the algorithm used for document signing is being considered safe. This means that as the computation power grows, the algorithm used for document signing will eventually weaken and the signature will need to be archived with a qualified timestamp, that will then use a safe algorithm.

If you store your documents in the Dokobit portal, we will guarantee the trustworthiness of a qualified electronic signature or seal through time. Note: this service is available only for our paying customers.
